B. Sc. (Hons) 1997 Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Ph. D. 2003 The University of Hong Kong (HKU)

Role

To provide research and technical leadership within the unit in the broad area of physical sciences research projects, high-level advice and interpretation in microscopy and microanalysis.

To assist users of the Unit in the acquisition of non-standard information and the interpretation of complex data, and expert advisory on EBSD, TEM diffraction and EPMA analysis.

Research Interests

Microstructures and Crystallographic Textures of Automobile body making sheet steels.

 

Grain growth phenomenon in metallic materials in particle free and particle contained systems (Electric steels and Aluminium containing rare earth elements eg Er, Sc, Hf).

 

Three dimensional tomography by EBSD.

 

Thermomechanical processing of metals and metallic composites.

 

Processing, characterization and evolution of mechanical properties of micro layered composites after severe deformation.

 

TEM and EBSD Electron Diffraction.
